Painted elk hide hand drum.
This commissioned design incorporates several Northwest Coast tribal styles.
The eyes in red ovoids in the wings are a Nuu-Chah-Nulth (West Coast) convention.
Crescent forms in the bird's chest and neck are Salish style.
The human spirit face above the tail and other elements are typical of Tlingit design.
